Crazy Train

This has been a crazy week.

Tuesday: Pick out paint and stain colors.

Wednesday: Meet with tile guy.

Thursday: Meet with granite guy.

No wonder people get divorced over this stuff. I'm pretty sure it is impossible to keep your sanity while building a house. Fortunately for us, we were crazy already. I have come to the conclusion that is impossible to build a perfect house. That said, ours is probably going to be perfect. At least it will be dang close. It's funny how you have one thing in mind, but when it comes time to make the decision you end up going a completely different direction. That in turn affects every other decision you have to make. I will be totally impressed if the paint, cabinets, countertops, tile, and trim all look good together. I was not informed of the need for a degree in interior design. Thanks to all people who have graciously shared their opinions. If it doesn't look good, I'm blaming you.

Tiffany agreed to be photographed for this blog. These pictures were taken on Wednesday immediately after work when we met with the tile guy. She doesn't usually wear her HEB shirt out in public. I think she looks good in red though, and these pictures show off the cabinets and trim work really well too.

  1. Yeah, yeah, I'm posting on the part of the blog that is already 3 weeks old... yes, I'm a little slow.
I've loved your blog-- especially some of your comments, Brian. You have a great wit!
And yes, Tiffany looks good in red, too.
Your house is looking fabulous. You will be SO glad when it's all finally done. You will especially love when all the "come back & fix this" tasks are taken care of-- because those are the real pain where you need to be there to let repair people in. We went thru fits in Midland on that house-- fortunately our Southlake builder was anal about the final punch list and didn't want us to move in until he was TOTALLY done with it. He finally gave in the last week because our lease ended in Las Colinas, but he was 98% done then anyway. He was a great builder-- we couldn't afford him anymore now though.
Okay, done rambling... house looks good, Tiffany looks good, blog is good... and we're looking forward to seeing y'all at the reunion. :-)
    Take care!!

PS: Yes, if your marriage can survive building a house, you're in good shape! (Try doing it from 300 miles away sometime-- Colby was already up here, I was still in Midland, it was "fun".)
